ups, for my absence...i am remodeling my "space", my creative corner was a big mess, full of chaos and et cetera...we went to Ikea (man, we waited more than a year...can you believe it, the whole time florida hadn't a ikea-store...ca. 1 week ago finanlly one open in sunrise, 45 minutes from us, yeah...) and bought 2 shelves. yep, I know, it won't be enough...well, didn't realize how much stuff I have...Photos soon...Have a great sunday!!!

Well, today I realized again, how alive our garden is. I mean, we are really not one of these "gardenoholics", who taking care the whole day their garden. But I always try to look very close what's going on there? and I am so curious to see something new... And I found a colourful leguan couple, 2 other bigger lizards, some egg-shells from birds, no, this time not from lizards and many things more....

Nun, heute ist mir mal wieder so bewusst geworden, wie lebendig unser Garten doch ist. Wir gehoeren nicht zu den suechtigen Gartenoholics, jedoch versuche ich immer genau hin zu schauen, was es neues in unserem Garten gibt. Vor kurzem entdeckte ich ein "buntes"Leguanpaerchen, 2 andere Arten von grossen Echsen, Vogelschalen, diesmal keine Eiechsenschalen, und noch vieles mehr...

Ha Ha Ha...I guess, my blog is going to be a garden-blog. Don't worry, soon more creative projects. But right now "my space", my creative corner, is full of chaos and needs more shelves...So, I don't have enough motivation to be in my lovely corner. Ikea open his first store in Florida, ca. 1 hours from our house. This means, I have to watch my money!!!!

Ja Ja Ja, mein Blog wird noch ein Gartenblog. Keine Sorge, bald gibt es mehr kreatives zu zeigen. Jedoch bin ich zur Zeit nicht so motiviert, da meine kreative Ecke vom Chaos heimgesucht wurde. Ich benoetige auf alle Faelle mehr Regale. Da Ikea seinen ersten Laden hier in Florida am 17-ten eroeffnet hat, so ca. 1 Stunde von uns entfernt, heisst es fuer mich ab nun "auf's Geld acht zu geben", hehehe

2 days ago I found TARZAN's "roots".... I really don't know the name of this plant, but for sure, it grows like weed in our garden and is strong like a hanf-rope. Yes, i try to swing on it and i felt like jane, i felt "really happy" with these ants under me, who enjoyed the blue/black-berries.....

Vor 2 Tagen entdeckte ich TARZAN's "Wurzeln"...Ich weiss wirklich nicht den Namen der Pflanze, aber sicher ist, sie waechst wie Unkraut in unserem Garten und ist ziemlich robust. Ja, ich versuchte Jane nach zu eifern, und es machte recht viel Spass, vorallem mit all den Ameisen unter mir, die sich an den Blau/Schwarzbeeren vergnuegten...

Our neighbor cut a little tree on their avocado-tree off, sounds weird, but see by yourself... Well, I was a bit crying, because it looks so sad. Of course, I understand, that they wanted to save their avocado-tree, but the little tree looked for me so, well, still alive. For me it felt, a person was hanging their and someone cut his/her arms and feet off. And what makes me a little bit smile, after few days, some new leaves come out the "wounds". Iasn't amazing, how strong nature is?

Unser Nachbar schnitt vor kurzem einen kleinen Baum von seinem Avocadobaum ab. Ich weiss, dies klingt komisch, aber schaut selber...Ich habe Traenen in den Augen gehabt, weil der kleine Baum, nun, was davon uebrig geblieben ist, so furchtbar ausschaute. Natuerlich verstehe ich den Nachbarn all zu gut, er wollte ja nur seinen Avocadobaum retten, jedoch sah der kleine Baum, trotz angehackt noch so lebendig aus. Fuer mich war es so, als wuerde ein Mensch am Baum haengen, den man Arme und Beine abgehackt haette. Nach einigen Tagen musste ich erstaunt feststellen, aus den "Wunden" des Kleinen spriessten wieder neue Triebe. Ist es nicht verrueckt, wie stark die natur ist?

Seine Wurzeln waren komplett um den Avocadobaum herum gewachsen. Es schaute aus, als wuerde er den grossen Baum umarmen oder erwuergen....Was immer...

well, this "sweater-vest" (argh, forget the real name for it) was a wish from my husband. he wanted a crochet"vest". first at all i thought he is kidding, but it was for real, hahaha...so, after ca. 22 yrs i got my crochet needles out and started first a scarf and hat for my sister-in-law, because i didn't know, if i can still crochet, so it was a kind of exercise for me. well, my first projects went pretty good, after that i started the "vest" without a pattern...well, here it is...

well, it's not perfect, but looks ok, hehehe... but meanwhile my husband gain(n)ed a bit weight. no more vest for him, and actually it's anyway too hot to wear it in florida...
her is a little something of the scarf and hat, first the hat was too small, because i worked again without a pattern (see slide-show "older projects", my dogs ginger & puk wearing the too small hat) ...

...but it worked out...i wish we would have a little bit winter here, just few weeks nice cold air and snow....or just a great fall would make me "more" happy...but soon we visit my sister-in-law and her husband in asheville (north carolina) and finally i'll be able to welcome the autumn and all its great colours. i guess the fall brings all my favorite colours...i know, i know, i am a "olle" hippie, hehehehe

...yeah, i got it....if you take a look to the right (bar-) side...ta tata...there it is...but unfortunately i havn't photographed always my stuff...so, just few items to see. the paintings and drawings are really old (teenager-stuff, but funny, hehehe)...all my t-shirt-works are not in the slide-show, i dont have the pics here, all are hiding in boxes somewhere in germany under the roof of my parents house...well...

Today is one of these days, where I really miss you, my lovely city Duesseldorf (Germany) and all the great memories...

Because of this I got a new idea...I created today my new blog called "meine Rappelkiste" (myRappelkiste), a blog about my great memories of my former work as an educator/teacher in the kindergarten (kindertaggesstaette) RAPPELKISTE in Duesseldorf. How much I have learnt there and how much love the kids, my co-workers (also my good friends) and the parents gave to me, especially in one of these hard times, who were full of weakness and sadness, long time ago, hehehe...Well, I was today a bit kind of sentimental, but in the positive way, now, I have soooo many ideas how to create my new blog, but you are right, I should finish first this blog...Why I have always too many ideas in one time and not enough time to deal with it? Well, I just put a photo on my blog, but I am amazed how great it looks. This photo is from a kindergarten-papa named Thomas Schultze, a great photographer from Duesseldorf. I just play around with it...My former boss sent me few photos from an event for one of the colonge-tv-channels, but well, I forgot the name of it, argh!!! The tv-station wanted the kids for a paint-session. So, for today I just show you the banner I created. maybe tomorrow the rest...

Heute ist ein Tag von diesen Tagen, wo mir wieder was bewusst wird, wie sehr ich dich vermisse, mein Duesseldorf (hehehe) und all die netten Erinnerungen, nein, nicht die schlechten, die haben bei mir gerade keine Chance...Eigentlich musste ich heute viel ueber "meine" Rappelkiste nach denken...
Deswegen schweifte so ein genialer Gedanke irgendwo in meinem Koepfchen hervor. Und zwar gestaltete ich heute einen neuen Blog namens "meine Rappelkiste", einen Blog ueber all die tollen Erinnerungen an meiner ehemaligen Arbeitstelle Rappelkiste in Duesseldorf, eine Kindertaggesstaette mit Besonderheiten. Details aber spaeter mal... Mir wird bewusst, wieviel ich dort gelernt habe, nicht nur von meinen tollen Arbeitskolleginnen, sondern auch von den Kindern und deren Eltern. Besonders unterstuetzten sie mich waehrend so einigen harten Zeiten, ihnen war es vielleicht nicht immer bewusst, aber damals hat es mir besonders viel bedeutet, schon ein Weilchen her, aber ich bin ihnen deswegen immer noch sehr dankbar...Nun, heute hatte ich so einen moralischen Tag, jedoch in einem positiven Sinne. Jetzt habe ich sooo viele Ideen, wie ich meinen neuen Blog gestalten koennte, ja, ich weiss, ihr habt Recht. ich sollte erst diesen Blog zu Ende gestalten...warum muss ich immer so viele Ideen haben, aber nicht genug Zeit, um sie zu direkt zu verwirklichen? Bis jetzt sieht man dort nur ein Photo, eine Aufnahme von Thomas Schultze (Kita-Papa und toller Photograph aus Duesseldorf), jedoch haut mich das Bild ansicht schon von den Socken...Ich habe nur etwas mit dem Photo herumgespielt, dank Irfan View...Meine ehemalige Chefin hat mir einige Photos von einigen Kindern gesendet, die an einer Koelner-Fernseh-veranstaltung teilnahmen, echt der Hammer und davon stammte die eine Aufnahme...Fuer heute mag ich euch erstmal die Blogbanneraufnahme zeigen, vielleicht morgen die restlichen Photos...

Today i tried to make a slide-show for my "older projects" section. well, it didn't work at all, i guess our dial-up internet-connection is absolut too slow. well, 2 hours for nothing, cry cry... but i could save some photos i like to post, hope the code won't be to big for my side-bar. well, tomorrow i'll try again...sorry, that i didn't write more, but i am really busy...ps: you can see the slide-show on the right. to have a slide in a post and side-bar is too much, i didn't work again, hm...

Heute versuchte ich eine Slide-show fuer meine Side-bar zu gestalten. jedoch funktionierte nichts wie ich es wollte. Ich denke es liegt an unsere zu langsame Dial-up Internetleitung. Einige Photos konnte ich retten...Hoffe der Slide wird nicht zu gross fuer die Side-bar sein...Morgen werde ich es nochmal probieren, tja, 2 Stunden Arbeit umsonst...Tschuldigt, dass ich in letzter Zeit nicht geschrieben habe, ich war ziemlich beschaeftigt...PS: Ihr koennt die Slideshow auf der rechten seite sehen. Irgendwie funktioniert es nicht eine im Post und ne andere in der Side-bar zu haben. Schade, naja, waere vielleicht eh zu viel gewesen...

acorn-beanie-hat in progress/ Muetze in Mache

This acorn-beanie-hat should be a "baby"-hat, but you already know, that my English isn't the best, this means, I didn't understand the pattern or maybe I lost, because I didn't finish a gauge (?) so know I got a hat for an 2yrs old toddler, hehehe Well, still cute, isn't it? I got the pattern from that book: Simple crochet for cherished babies (Jane Davis)

Diese Muetze sollte eigentlich eine Babymuetze werden, jedoch entwickelte sich dadraus eine Muetze fuer 2-jaehrige. Ja, das kommt davon, wenn man in der Schule betr Englisch nicht besser aufgepasst hat. Vielleicht liegt es auch dadran, dass ich vorher kein Beispielmuster gehaekelt habe, Faulheit wird halt ab und zu bestraft. Die Haekelbeschreibung war ansicht nicht ganz so schwer, aber mir fehlten halt so einige Fachworte. Die tolle Acornmuetze habe ich aus diesem Buch: Simple crochet for cherished babies (Jane davis)


Here from the same book a wonderful dress, for me it was hard to follow the pattern, but all the work worth it.
